Research Professor Discretionary Funding

The vitality of CompNet depends in no small part on the productivity and success of its non-tenure track research faculty. Some of the most visible work in CompNet comes from these researchers, who depend fully on CompNet for administrative support and resources. Therefore, research-active members (PIs, co-PIs, or those who play a significant leadership role on an already-funded project or a project proposal submitted within the last 12 months) whose primary appointment is in CompNet will receive a modest level of discretionary funds annually to help support research activities. These funds can be used to join professional organizations, attend conferences, support pilot research efforts, and engage in other activities that support research productivity.
